How To Add Google Analytics To Your Profit Platform Website

Step-by-step: Set up Google Analytics (GA4) on your website

We have provided a plugin that you can use for traffic tracking with Google Analytics on your Profit Platform website. The plugin is named  “Head, Footer and Post Injections” and it is already installed on your website but needs to be activated (if it is not already) so you can use it.

1) Activate the plugin in WordPress

  1. Log in to your WordPress dashboard.
  2. Go to Plugins → Installed Plugins.
  3. Find Head, Footer and Post Injections and click Activate (if it is not already active)

2) Get your Google Analytics 4 Tag code

  1. Visit analytics.google.com and sign in.
  2. You then need to create a property, to do that: Admin (gear) → Create Property → follow prompts.
The Admin gear icon is located at the bottom of the left-hand navigation bar.
  3. In Admin → Data streams → Web, create your website stream by clicking on the “Add Stream” button and selecting “Web.”
Note: the “Data Streams” link is located in the “Data collection and modification” section of the Admin page.
  4. Click View tag instructions, then click on the Install manually tab and copy the gtag.js code snippet by clicking the copy icon in the upper right corner of the box where the code is displayed.

3) Inject the tag site-wide with the plugin

  1. In WordPress, go to Settings → Head & Footer (the plugin’s settings page is titled “Head, Footer and Post Injections”).
  2. In the SITE-WIDE section, paste the GA tag into the Head box (this ensures it loads on every page).
  3. Click Save.

4) Verify tracking is working

Option A — GA4 Realtime

  1. Open Reports → Realtime in Google Analytics.
  2. In a separate browser window (or an incognito/private window), load a few pages of your site.
  3. You should see at least one active user and page views in Realtime within ~30–90 seconds.

Option B — Tag Assistant

  1. Install Google Tag Assistant (Chrome extension). Click on the extensions icon in the upper right of the Chrome window (it looks like a little puzzle piece), then click “Manage Extensions” and on the next page, click the link to go to the chrome web store. Search the store for “Google Tag Assistant” and install it.
  2. Open your site, click the extension, and confirm you see Google Analytics: GA4 configuration with your G-XXXXXXXXXX Gtag firing once.
